OUR HISTORY

2006 was the year that OpenIP Ltd was founded by Andrew Starr, Managing Director.

The business has grown from strength to strength and is based in Bolton, Lancashire and operate their services across the UK.

A specialist team was established for Data and Fibre Cabling and security systems such as CCTV, Alarms and Fire.

This means that we no longer have to outsource our cabling requirements as we have the facility to do this in house.

This was a year of growth for OpenIP with the addition of Hardware Saints to their portfolio.

In 2010, it proved to be a year of growth for Open IP after diversifying and creating the online store Hardware Saints, who stock a huge range of IT and Telecoms Hardware at trade prices giving customers great value for money.  Hardware Saints is a trading name of Open IP Ltd, a specialist in the sale and installation of IT and Telecommunications hardware.

Operating since 2006 we have customers in all sectors including Education, Government and large bluechip organisations. We are dedicated to delivering the highest service and offering trade prices to the public.  We are experts in our field and not only supply the top technology brands, we also have a team of highly qualified engineers that can help install, maintain and support your ongoing IT/Telecom needs.

A further addition to the OpenIP portofio was established with the creation of Sales-Tele, a provider of Mitel and Cisco Phone Systems, handsets and headsets.

2011 has proven to be a year of further growth with the addition of Sales-Tele.com, a provider of Mitel and Cisco Phone Systems, handsets and headsets.

At the start of this year, we moved into our own three storey premises in Bolton town centre.  This has given the company more room to expand and create facilities such as our demo suite.

The new address is 2 Bark Street East, Bolton, BL1 2BQ

2014 has been the best start to a year so far, with the addition of 3 contracts worth an £250,000 extra business coming in the first two months of the year.

Bolton, Lancashire; February 14th 2014:  OpenIP Ltd has had the best start to a year since the company was founded in 2006.  The IT and Telecoms company based in Bolton town centre has clinched an extra £250,000 of business since the start of 2014.

The main area of growth for OpenIP is within the education sector with large Wireless Networks being installed.  Brine Leas School, Cheshire; has had Ruckus Wireless within the sixth form for several years which was installed by OpenIP but they are now rolling this out across the whole school.  The other contract that has been won is for Ribblesdale High School, Clitheroe; who also researched the need to implement a wireless facility within the school which will be hosting over 1,000 tablets..

A large organization within the North West has signed off on a project involving VMware Virtualisation and security.  VMware is virtualisation software company and empowers organisations to innovate and thrive by streamlining IT operations. By virtualising infrastructure—from the data center to the cloud to mobile devices—VMware enables IT to deliver services from any device, anytime, anywhere.

What a great start to the year for OpenIP.  I am delighted with the contracts and the fact that economic recovery is taking hold as we are starting to see old and new clients investing in technology infrastructure

 Andrew Starr, Managing Director

As virtualisation is now a critical component to an overall IT strategy, it is important to choose the right vendor. VMware is the leading business virtualisation infrastructure provider, offering the most trusted and reliable platform for building private clouds and federating to public clouds.

Our team of experts and our customer focus has helped us win these contracts and we are actively pursuing further contracts to ensure that 2014 is the biggest revenue that OpenIP has seen since being founded.
